khmer-common software package provides common files for the khmer project tools, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install khmer-common
khmer-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the khmer-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep khmer-common *
You will get with khmer-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
